NEW MUSIC: Lazka – Boing
Lazka, the guise under which Harikiri pushes his non-dubstep & drum ‘n’ bass material, marks an interesting turn in the style of his production. ‘Boing’ is proving difficult to pin down to any one genre – You’d be forgiven for calling it minimal house with it’s rolling sub and cut-up vocals, but it’s Lazka/Harikiri’s edgy and complex drum patterns (somewhat of a trademark) that set this track out from it’s rivals. Call it what you will, this track definitely has something going for it!
Also check out Harikiri’s other material – ‘Hate’ is a personal favourite. Not only is it, in our view, Harikiri’s most accomplished track in terms of production to date, it also smashes it on sheer raw-ness!
If your not familiar with Harikiri’s other material, now is the time to get acquainted – it’s only a matter of time before it becomes neccesary.
NEW MUSIC: Synamatix – Revolution
Off the back of past production successes (most notably his bootleg of Olive’s ‘Your Not Alone’), Synamatix brings back some memories with his newest offering ‘Revolution’.
A refreshing change from most contemporary dubstep, for us this a spot on combo of a subtle but weighty bassline and rhythmic percussion, sown together in an almost DMZ-like way… Let’s just hope this gets picked up and pressed!
